3D Modeling
Point Clouds and Computer Aided Design
The process of 3D modeling may sound complex, but the results can offer countless possibilities for your company. During the 3D scanning process, a “point cloud” of the areas that are scanned is created. Point clouds are sets of data points in physical space.
These data points create a background where conventional Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs can work their own magic. CAD programs can inset the new 3D design work against the background. This process allows industrial and commercial clients to complete the design of new features integrated with existing conditions.
